Heather Swan is a world-record-holding adventurer, author and speaker whose life has been shaped by a simple question: What becomes possible when fear no longer leads?

After leaving a successful corporate career, Heather reinvented herself as one of the world’s most accomplished adventure athletes. She remains the only woman to combine high-altitude mountaineering with wingsuit BASE jumping, setting a world record after climbing Mount Meru in the Indian Himalaya and jumping from 6,604 metres—a feat that has remained unrepeated for more than 20 years.

Her many world firsts include a wingsuit flight across the Grand Canyon from rim to rim and pioneering wingsuit skydives in Antarctica, over Sydney Harbour, Brisbane, Melbourne and Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre. Every expedition demanded meticulous preparation, sound judgement and the courage to perform under pressure.

Today, Heather shares the lessons adventure has taught her about courage, resilience and reinvention. Her message is both empowering and practical: courage isn’t something we’re born with—it’s something we build.

The author of three books and a recipient of Australian Geographic’s prestigious Lifetime of Adventure and Spirit of Adventure Awards. Heather is also an Australian Geographic Women in Adventure Ambassador.
